Visit Tintagel during your Holiday in Cornwall

Spend your camping or caravan holiday at Perran Springs Holiday Park and visit Tintagel. Famous as the legendary birthplace of King Arthur, Tintagel’s dramatic castle ruins stand high above the sea on a rocky headland. The cove below is home to the magical Merlin’s Sea Cave. The headland was originally the site of an Iron Age castle and in the Dark Ages was a celtic settlement before becoming occupied by the Earls of Cornwall from Medieval Times. The ruins are now managed by English Heritage.

The village of Tintagel includes a property run by The National Trust, The Old Post Office, which was originally a small 14th century manor house. The surrounding coastline is also predominantly managed by The National Trust and the nearby quiet harbourside hamlet of Boscastle is well worth a visit.

Information on events and activities around the Tintagel area can be obtained from the information area in Reception.
