Visit the City of Truro during your Holiday in Cornwall
Spend your camping or caravan holiday at Perran Springs Holiday Park and visit the City of Truro. Truro is dominated by the three spires of the Cathedral, but also boasts some beautiful Georgian architecture. Truro’s importance began when it was a port and stannary town, a place where the tin from the local mines was brought for testing and stamping. Cornwall’s capital city is now the commercial and cultural centre of the county. It has an excellent shopping centre with many of the main high street names, in addition to a variety of smaller independent shops, bakeries, tea rooms and markets.
Truro has much to offer including; boat trips along the river Fal towards the sea at Falmouth, a park; Victoria Gardens, a Cinema and ten-pin Bowling Alley. The Royal Cornwall Museum is situated in the heart of the city and houses a permanent display of Cornish history and archaeology, with fine and decorative art. The Hall for Cornwall is a venue for plays and concerts and during the day often holds craft, WI, flea markets and Made-in-Cornwall fayres. Along the estuary towards Falmouth you will find the tranquil Trelissick Gardens, with numerous paths around established planting schemes, with views along the estaury.
Information on events and activities around Truro can be obtained from the information area in Reception.
