Book your camping and touring caravan holiday in Cornwall at Perran Springs Holiday Park
and visit Penzance, the primary gateway to The Isles of Scilly, where you can take a helicopter, or the boat Scillonian III over to the Islands. The name Penzance is derived from
‘pen’ meaning ‘headland’ and ‘sans’ meaning ‘holy’.
The main town has a shopping street and is also home to ancient inns and Trinity House’s
National Lighthouse Museum. The promenade provides a scenic yet sometimes bracing
walk, with views across the Bay to St Michael’s Mount, which can be reached on foot at low
tide only.
Nearby is the fishing village of Newlyn which holds an annual Fish Festival and has a fleet
of fishing trawlers which bring in a fresh catch on a regular basis. This village is also the
birthplace of the Newlyn School of Artists and Art Gallery.
