Whilst staying at Perran Springs Holiday Park in Cornwall, we would highly recommend a day out to visit one of the West Country’s many tourist attractions. With a lot of these attractions not too far from our campsite you can be sure that travel time will be kept to a minimum, allowing you more time to explore some of these great places.

One such place we would highly recommend is the Eden Project which is only a 30 minute drive from our campsite.

The Eden Project

Ever since it opened in 2001 The Eden Project has become one of Cornwall’s top attractions, attracting both tourists and locals alike. Built on a disused clay pit there now stands several huge artificial geodesic domes which house some of the world’s most exotic plants. This living theatre is a unique experience allowing you to interact with nature and explore the relationship between man and plant. The Eden Project has 2 main biomes to explore and enjoy, there’s the Humid Tropical Biome with its fascinating jungle environment and there’s the Temperate Biome which has plants from the Mediterranean, Californian and South African regions.

Get Involved

Not only is the Eden project home to the largest rainforest in captivity, showcasing some stunning plants but you can also get involved with the many courses they run such as short gardening courses, botanical art classes and community workshops. For those who are planning on staying for a while there are plenty of opportunities to volunteer and even work for the Eden Project.

Visiting with kids

Visiting the Eden Project with the kids can be a fantastic way for your children to learn about these exotic plants and biomes. The Eden Project caters for children of all ages and with innovative play equipment and plenty of seasonal events, which are designed not only to entertain kids but also to educate kids throughout the year.

Events and exhibitions

The Eden Project is home to many events and exhibitions throughout the year, from art and photography exhibitions to rock concerts, beer and food festivals to seasonal events.

The Eden Project is only a 30 minute drive from our campsite and is well worth the short journey to explore this fascinating attraction. The Eden Project truly is a fantastic day out for everyone and comes highly recommended by ourselves here at Perran Springs Holiday Park and also our guests at the park. So if you want more information about the Eden Project and the events do not hesitate to ask at reception.
