Little Gem Of A Site
Just returned home after an 8 night stay at Perran Springs. Returning here after many years I wasn’t disappointed. The pitch allocated was enormous. Tents aren’t crammed in as on some other sites we have visited. The toilet and shower block is immaculate all of the time. Lovely hot showers and a hairdryer ( 20p a time which is ample). There is also a launderette on site with washing machine, dryer and ironing facilities, a baby changing room, a seperate space on site for wet suit/ board washing, plenty of washing up areas across the park with hot water all of the time.
The park also boasts a lovely play area which the children made good use of, a recreation field with goal posts for ball games, frisbee etc. There are no ball games allowed around the pitches which is absolutely fair enough and the play field provides a more than adequate area to run around.
The fishing lakes are stunning and so well maintained. We don’t fish but saw plenty of others relaxing round the lakes. If fishing isn’t for you I would still highly recommend a stroll around the lakes which are home to an abundance of wildlife. Early morning or evening is just magical.
Just a few miles out of Perranporth and a perfect location just off the A30 Perran Springs is the ideal site for exploring Cornwall..we will most definitely be coming back soon!! We can’t recommend it highly enough!!

Some of the closest places that you may want to visit when staying at Perran Springs include:
- Perranporth beach is just over 2 miles away is one of the more famous beaches in Cornwall. It is known for its sparkling golden sands and excellent surf.
- Newquay is about 6 miles away and is one of the more popular resort towns. It has several good beaches nearby, lots of activities and events, as well as numerous attractions to visit.
- St Agnes beach – a small quaint Cornish village with a lovely beach. Great for the children, as there are 100’s of rockpools and an old harbor wall that was wrecked years ago during a storm – but great for exploring!
- Holywell Bay – about a 10-minute car drive. A large beach with huge sand dunes. There is a freshwater stream that runs across the beach, which is safe for young children to play in a cool down.
It you do not wish to drive, we provide taxi numbers, or a bus can be taken from our local village in Goonhavern (less than a 10-minute walk away)
Range of Camping Pitches
Our camping pitches are all flat and level, and are split across several areas: Jay, Swift, Pheasant, Owl, and Woodpecker. Each area is situated so that it has easy access to the main facilities in the park.
If you have a preference you can choose between grass or hard standing camping pitches. Most have 16 amp electric hookups, but some do not – so be sure to select the correct pitch when securely booking online
Repeat visitors to the park tend to favor pitches based on their proximity to the play area, natures trail, or fishing lakes – especially if they prefer one or the other.
3 Fully-Stocked Fishing Lakes
One of the main draws of our campsite is that if you’re camping, you’ll have access to our 3 fantastic private fishing lakes. Each lake is fully stocked with a variety of fish, including carp, perch, tench, bream, rudd and roach.
The lakes provide a range of different angling options that are suitable for both beginners and more experienced anglers:
Butterfly Lake is the smallest of the 3 lakes, and is known as a great family fishing spot. The best method for the lake is said to be float fishing, either using pole or waggler fishing.
Mayfly Lake is popular for anglers looking to hook good catch weights. It is can be fished using a pole or feed, but some experience and the right setup may be needed to handle the larger fish.
Dragonfly Lake is a good spot for more experienced anglers who want to hook specimen carp. It is tricky, requires patience, and strong elastic will be necessary if using a pole.
We have a small fishing tackle shop available at the park which should cater to most of your needs. Whilst we are not the biggest tackle shop, we do stock rods, reels, landing nets and poles, and various types of bait, all at competitive prices. Andrew can also provide excellent advice and help setup any beginners with the correct fishing equipment.
Before fishing at any of the lakes a permit must be purchased from the reception as well.
Family-Friendly Recreational Areas
Lots of family’s book Perran Springs every year due to how family-friendly we are. Our outdoor recreational areas in particular, provide hours of fun for younger family members, and are a constant hub of activity.
The wooden play areas have a wide range of features including tyre swings, wooden walkways, a wobbly bridge, and a NEW three-tower system with climbing ramps and slides.
Another popular spot is the our Recreation Meadow where kids can play football, fly kites, or simply devise other games to run around and play in the large open area.

Within the Perran Spring Holiday Park there are facilities and amenities that will make your stay more comfortable. Free hot showers are also available to park residents in the award-winning 24-hour shower block that has won praise for its cleanliness and spacious design. Private washing areas are there as well, with basins, hand dryers and hair dryers too.
The park shop provides easy access to simple food and essential items for camping and touring.
If you want to take your dog or pets along with you, we welcome them too. You are permitted to bring up to 3 pets per camping or touring unit.
All pets should always be accompanied & never left alone while they’re on the campsite, we have a few pet-restricted areas, such as the fishing lakes. But in general, if your dog is kept on a lead you can walk your pets around the pitch areas, and a public footpath which adjoins our holiday park at the bottom of the campsite.
