We are located near the north coastline, and many popular tourist attractions are just a short drive away from our campsite.

Some of the closest places that you may want to visit when staying at Perran Springs include:

  • Perranporth beach is just over 2 miles away is one of the more famous beaches in Cornwall. It is known for its sparkling golden sands and excellent surf.
  • Newquay is about 6 miles away and is one of the more popular resort towns. It has several good beaches nearby, lots of activities and events, as well as numerous attractions to visit.
  • St Agnes beach – a small quaint Cornish village with a lovely beach. Great for the children, as there are 100’s of rockpools and an old harbor wall that was wrecked years ago during a storm – but great for exploring!
  • Holywell Bay – about a 10-minute car drive. A large beach with huge sand dunes. There is a freshwater stream that runs across the beach, which is safe for young children to play in a cool down.

It you do not wish to drive, we provide taxi numbers, or a bus can be taken from our local village in Goonhavern (less than a 10-minute walk away)

Range of Camping Pitches

Our camping pitches are all flat and level, and are split across several areas: Jay, Swift, Pheasant, Owl, and Woodpecker. Each area is situated so that it has easy access to the main facilities in the park.

If you have a preference you can choose between grass or hard standing camping pitches. Most have 16 amp electric hookups, but some do not – so be sure to select the correct pitch when securely booking online

Repeat visitors to the park tend to favor pitches based on their proximity to the play area, natures trail, or fishing lakes – especially if they prefer one or the other.

3 Fully-Stocked Fishing Lakes

One of the main draws of our campsite is that if you’re camping, you’ll have access to our 3 fantastic private fishing lakes. Each lake is fully stocked with a variety of fish, including carp, perch, tench, bream, rudd and roach.

The lakes provide a range of different angling options that are suitable for both beginners and more experienced anglers:

Butterfly Lake is the smallest of the 3 lakes, and is known as a great family fishing spot. The best method for the lake is said to be float fishing, either using pole or waggler fishing.

Mayfly Lake is popular for anglers looking to hook good catch weights. It is can be fished using a pole or feed, but some experience and the right setup may be needed to handle the larger fish.

Dragonfly Lake is a good spot for more experienced anglers who want to hook specimen carp. It is tricky, requires patience, and strong elastic will be necessary if using a pole.

We have a small fishing tackle shop available at the park which should cater to most of your needs. Whilst we are not the biggest tackle shop, we do stock rods, reels, landing nets and poles, and various types of bait, all at competitive prices. Andrew can also provide excellent advice and help setup any beginners with the correct fishing equipment.

Before fishing at any of the lakes a permit must be purchased from the reception as well.
